Library Hours:

Monday to Friday-11-00 AM – 3.00 PM
Saturday-11-30 AM – 2.00 PM
For Daily Using (Only Reading) -11-00 AM – 3.00 PM
For Book Returns -12-00 PM – 2.00 PM
Book Requisition -12.00 AM – 2.00 PM
For Book Lending -11-30 AM – 2.00 PM

General Rules:

  • Reading room facility is available from 12.00 NOON - 3.00 PM on all working days (Monday to Friday)
  • Strict decorum and discipline must be maintained in the Library
  • Eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the Library..
  • Students must not bring bags, sticks, umbrellas, briefcases, boxes and other such articles into the Library. They may be deposited at the Library property counter. The item deposited can be recovered by returning time. Students are advised not to leave expensive items with the property counter.
  • Enter your name and Signature in the register kept at the entrance property counter before entering library.
  • Library card is compulsory for getting access to the library..
  • Books taken for reading room purpose should be returned back in the same day
  • Students should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, she will be charged the full replacement cost of the materials.
  • The Teacher-in-Charge shall have the power to refuse admission to any one infringing the rules and regulations of the Library.
  • Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.
  • The timings and days of operation shall undergo changes, if necessary

For Academic Staff:

  • All academic staff can re issue the borrowed books only twice provided that books have not been requisitioned.
  • An over-due charge of Rs.1.00 per day shall be charged against each book not returned within the due date.
  • A document issued may be renewed after a gap of 7 days provided there is no reservation against it
  • Books may be recalled before the due date if required urgently in the Library. Failure to respond promptly may lead to suspension of library privileges

For students:

  • Students pursuing Honours Course can borrow a maximum of two books at a time depending on the availability of the same in the library for 7 days, which can be further renewed for a maximum period of another 7 days.
  • Students pursuing Program Course can borrow one book from library for 7 days for home use. However, if needed it can be renewed for a maximum period of another 7 days.

Loss of Library Books:

  • In case of loss of Library book, the latest edition of the lost book is to be replaced to the library.
  • Decision on out of print books will be taken by the Library Committee.
  • Borrowed books are to be returned before appearing for any Semester Examinations. Mark sheet will not be issued unless library clearance is taken from the library staff.
